William R. Lievense

Principal – Capitol Group

William (Bill) Lievense is the founder and principal of Capitol Group Government & Public Affairs consultants. Prior to establishing Capitol Group in 1992, Bill served as a corporate attorney and manager of Government Affairs for Amway Corporation. He also directed Midwest Government and Public Affairs for Scott Paper Company.

Mr. Lievense received his Bachelor of Arts (Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Ohio Wesleyan University and Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University. Bill is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is a registered lobbyist agent in the State of Michigan.

Capitol Group provides comprehensive government & public affairs services for companies and trade groups including advocacy and lobbying services. Areas of special expertise include managing complex environmental and energy issues and negotiating economic development incentives at the state and local levels of government in Michigan.

Bill is actively engaged with multiple state and local trade associations including several local chambers of commerce around the state. He and his wife have two grown daughters. In his spare time, Bill enjoys boating, swimming, golf, skiing and working on home improvement projects.
